FreelanceMicrosoft Wants Partners To Retrain for the Cloud
Microsoft is serious about going cloud-based. They have been pushing for devices and technologies that seem to capitalize on cloud computing, and during Microsoft's annual Worldwide Partner Conference, the company reiterated that fact. MS CEO Steve Ballmer speaking at the conference held at the Staples Center, encouraged partner companies to move with them on the cloud through their cloud-delivered technologies. "The cloud is where things are going and we want you to come with us," Ballmer said to 15,000 in Los Angeles "You are going to have to continue to remap and retrain yourselves." The conference also highlighted some of Microsoft's core product's Office and Windows. Ballmer said that Windows continuously outsell its rivals, not naming names, but obviously pointing to Apple. He said that Microsoft shipped 350 million PCs with Windows last year, and its rival shipped 20 million. That's a big difference in number. "Now, 20 is too much," Ballmer said. "But 350, last time I checked, is still more than 20." As for the Office, the Office2010 suite already sold more than 100 million copies in just a few months time. Microsoft also highlighted Windows 7's success instead of giving all out details for the Windows 8 which is expected to come early next year. You can talk about...
