Many love the jobs that they currently have, but most of us can still of improvements to make. Sometimes, the changes are so drastic that it's already obvious that there needs to be a shift in career in order to be satisfied with the occupation you have. We all have these dream jobs, and for a friend of mine, it's all about becoming a freelance photographer.

In an obvious sense, a freelance photographer is basically an individual unattached to any company whose job is to take part in photography projects for different clients. These photography projects could range from advertising campaign to personal events like weddings and birthdays. The job of a freelance photographer is far from being redundant because of the variety of people and companies that desire diverse photo requirements.

And like any other job, becoming a freelance photographer requires a lot of time, effort, and commitment on the part of the photographer. While there are entire days or weeks spent for a particular project, significant amount of time is also spent on looking for a project to work on. Unlike a typical online freelancer's job, a freelance photographer is almost always on the road and only in front of the computer once all the raw shots are already completed.

Before setting out to a project, the photographer also has to arrange certain things such as lighting, equipment, lenses, tripods, models, and maps for outdoor shooting locations. Some freelance photographers even hire other people to help them with these menial jobs while they work on the actual job of taking photos and contacting clients.

Freelance photographers should also be used to working during odd hours. There's no guarantee that you will be working only on morning, because a campaign may dictate that photos be taken during the evening. Some shoots go on for nearly 24 hours in order to capture specific moments like the blossoming of flowers.

The job of a freelance photographer is never easy, but what is difficult when there is the promise that you do what you want to do and the idea that every single day brings with it new opportunities to express creativity?
